FIRE
We would like you to take particular notice of the procedure in the event of a fire. Please read the instructions on the back or near the door. In the event of this or in any emergency please use the emergency phone on the front desk to call for assistance.
Fire Escape Route
On hearing the fire alarm:
- DO exit quickly and calmly using the nearest exit
- DO go directly to the assembly point in the hotel car park
- DO close the door behind you
- DO NOT use lifts
- DO NOT stop to collect bags or belongings
On discovering a fire:
- Please activate the nearest fire point

The fire alarm is tested weekly on a Wednesday at 11:30am.

Activities
Torridon Outdoors operates on a pre-booked basis only. We also have a fleet of mountain bikes available to hire.
Baby Listening Service
Unfortunately, we cannot provide a baby sitter to look after your children during the evening but we can provide a listening service to your room. For further details please contact reception on ‘0’. If you require any bottles re-heated or sterilised please contact reception.
Bathrobes
Bathrobes are provided for your comfort and enjoyment - If you would like to enjoy a brand new, packaged Torridon Robe at home, then please contact reception. The cost is £95 and this will be added to your bill for any Robes which are taken from the room.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served from 8.00am until 10.15am in the 1887 restaurant. At peak times it can be busy and there may be a small wait for a table
Car Parking
The car park can be found at the rear of the hotel. Please note that the hotel accepts no responsibility or liability for any damage or theft of any vehicles while parked in the car park.
Bamford Toiletries
‘Everything we do at Bamford is born out of my belief that we need to live more consciously: to slow our pace, be mindful of our footprint and take care of the earth that provides for us. In doing so we nourish and nurture our own well-being too.’
These products are available to purchase. We politely ask that you do not take from the room as we re-fill the bottles to cut down on the amount of plastic that is sent to landfill.
Departure
We kindly ask guests to have vacated their rooms by 12.00. On the morning of your departure your invoice will be sent to you by email. Please settle your account with a member of the team at the Hotel reception and remember to leave your key.
If you would like to depart early in the morning, please let us know and we can arrange for your account to be settled the evening before to ensure a prompt departure.

Dogs
We very much regret that we do not accept dogs in the Hotel, except in our Deluxe Suite – The Chestnut Cottage. Dogs are not allowed in the public areas of the hotel, including our 1887 restaurant.
Dogs are more than welcome to use our grounds but we respectfully ask that you clean up any fouling, please place in the bin provided over the bridge.
Dogs are also welcome at the Beinn Bar, but not at the Bo and Muc Restaurant. There is a charge per room for dogs staying in bedrooms.
Drone Policy
In line with UK laws regarding drone flying, we ask that you do not fly any drones within 50 metres of any other guests, vehicles, or buildings around the resort. Please ensure that any images you obtain do not break any privacy laws.
Electric Charge Point
There are two Tesla chargers and a Porsche destination charger in the Hotel Car Park, and we have 2 rapid electric vehicle chargers available to use at the Bo and Muc car park.

Green Tourism Policy Statement
We acknowledge and consider it essential to monitor our performance in all areas that affect our health, habitat, life style and carbon foot print. The Torridon operates a policy of continuous improvement and development towards reducing the impact on the environment.
To this end we aim to be recognised as a leading representative of good practice in Green Tourism for the benefit of our company, guests, staff, the community and our unique and fragile landscape, which in itself is vital to our business. Can I please ask that should you have recycling please leave out for us and we will take care of; newspapers, glass bottles, plastics and cans.
Should you choose not to have your towels changed daily, the money saved on laundry goes to the Trees4Scotland campaign. This year we have successfully planted 25 trees with them. We are committed to a carbon management programme with our goal of saving over 154 tonnes of CO2 per annum. As our guest, you can help us achieve
this ambitious target.
Fans
With our temperate climate on the West Coast we do not have air conditioning in the hotel. Should you require it during your stay there is a fan located in your room either in the wardrobe or cupboard.
Fire
Please read the emergency fire evacuation route in your bedroom. In the case of any other emergency please use the emergency phone on the front desk to call for assistance.
Garden
During your stay you may wish to wander down to see the Torridon kitchen garden which is on the other side of the Coire Roill burn. Access is from the bridge on the left-hand side in front of the hotel or via the Torridon Trail. The garden provides the kitchens with excellent produce including, vegetables, herbs, salads and fruits as well as fantastic cut flowers for the house.
There is a map of the Torridon grounds with walks available at reception.
Gifts
A small selection of gifts, toiletries, glassware, maps and clothing are available in our cabinets. If you wish to purchase something, we politely ask that you do this the night before your departure.
We also stock a variety of toiletries should you have forgotten something.

Gratuities
We would like to assure you that all gratuities go directly to the Torridon team. Should you choose to leave a gratuity/tip for excellent service at The Torridon this will be distributed to every member of staff who will get a fair share and nothing is taken by the company.
Hair Dryer
A hairdryer has been placed in your room for your convenience.
Highland Cattle
Our Highland cattle are tame but we would advise that if you approach them, that you watch out for their sharp horns. We do not advise that you walk through the field. Please also be aware of the electric fence around the cows.
Housekeeping
Rooms will be serviced unless you notify us otherwise. We can deliver a refresher basket to the room if you would prefer.

Iron & Ironing Board
An iron and ironing board have been placed in your room for your convenience.
Maintenance
If something in your room requires maintenance, please contact reception in the morning, if possible, so that a member of the team can enter the room while you are out during the day. If you require urgent assistance, you will be asked to temporarily leave the room to allow a member of the maintenance team to enter.
Midges
During the summer months, we have the unfortunate arrival of midges. They are small insects and can be a pest. Please ensure that when you leave your room that all the lights are off and windows are closed. We recommend that you do not have your window open when you are in your room if any lights are on. At night for sleeping you can have the window open or if you prefer there is a fan in the wardrobe to use if the room is too warm. Midge repellent is available from reception.
Mobile Phones
We respectfully ask all guests to keep mobile phones on silent when in public rooms.

Please order your packed lunch the evening before it is required.
Reception / Room Service
We offer room service from 8.00 – 10.00 for breakfast and from 12.00 – 21.00 for our light lunch and evening menu. To place an order, please contact reception by dialling ‘0’ from your phone.
Please note reception operates from 7.30 – 22.00 Room Service is available in the main hotel building only.
Safe Deposit
Although we cannot accept liability for lost or stolen items you can deposit your money and items in the safe provided in your room. Please see instructions on how to operate.
Service Charge
A discretionary service charge of 12.5% will be added to all food and beverage transactions.
Telephone System
To dial another extension, obtain the dialling tone and dial the required number. All Bedrooms are prefixed by adding 200 to the existing Room number, so Room 1 becomes 201 and so on.
To make an outside call, dial 9 to obtain the outside line followed by the required number. Charges will apply for making international phone calls.

Television
Point the remote control towards the television and press the top right circular button which is for on/off.
Press TV Guide to access the channel listings which you can browse through. All channels are already stored.
The Back Up button will automatically return you to previous channel or to the main menu.
If the TV is not responding or seems to be frozen, press the ‘SKY’ button to refresh it.
To access channels that require a PIN please enter 1772

Water Supply
Our water is sourced directly from our own private supply; it is the purest Highland water and safe to drink. In line with regulations the water is treated with UV light and filtered, and routinely tested by the authorities.
Walkers
Our Local Torridon Mountain Rescue team and the local Police have asked us to request that you complete details of your route on a route card (available at reception). Although they realise that you may be experienced and fully equipped, mishaps do occur. In the past, two of our guests had to spend the night on Liathach only to be rescued the next morning by helicopter as no route details had been left.
Walking Guides
We have a walking and cycling guide available at reception, please let us know if you would like to have a look through it and we can print out the routes that you would like to do. There is a route card and map available for each walk or cycle. These are also available to view on our guest computer.
